our roots

A Neighborhood Classic Since 1910

The story of Bigham Tavern starts over a century ago, right here on Mount Washington. Back in 1910, this corner spot on Bigham Street opened its doors as a neighborhood tavern — the kind of place where factory workers would stop in after their shifts for a cold drink, a warm meal, and good conversation.

Over the years, the space changed names and hands more than once, but its spirit never wavered. When the current owners took over in 2010, they discovered the original name — Bigham Tavern — etched into the building and decided to bring it back.

Today, BT carries on that proud Pittsburgh tradition: hearty food, ice-cold beer, and a laid-back, old-school tavern vibe where everyone feels like a regular. From our legendary wings to our packed game days, we’re still the neighborhood spot Mount Washington calls home.
